To provide a continuum of care, our Independent Living Program is part of a sequential process that features helping youth prepare for and make a successful transition to independence. Young men and women, ages 18-21, are full-time college students or gainfully employed while living in apartments subsidized by the Harris Home. Supervision and financial responsibility is gradually reduced as self-sufficiency is demonstrated. Objectives are put in place so that the youth, through training and experiential living, master independence and become self-sufficient adults.
